Hi everybody. How are you today? Hopefully all is well, enjoyed your weekend and getting ready for september. After another small break, i’m back again for more. For today, we’ll go back to the Classic series and go away from enemies and look at an item. Today’s RRF is: ‘Item-1′. Anyone recognize this one here? If you’ve played Rockman 2, and odds really are that you have, then you should easily recognize this one. Item-1… yes, its called that, (i guess being simple is better than giving it a big fancy name), is one of 3 items in Rockman 2. You gain it after you defeat HeatMan. This first one here is a simple platform that moves straight up from where you fire it off. It can help you get to unreachable ladders and platforms. It is very simple, but its also very useful as well… as well as being a mandatory item as well. Much like the Magnet Beam before it in Rockman 1, this item is needed in order to get past the first area of Wily’s Castle. Reaching that one ladder is impossible to reach it without it, and also impossible with just 1 of the Item-1’s, but don’t worry, you can have 3 of them on the screen at a time, so it makes the ladder there reachable. If your willing to dance around some enemies, you can also use this one to reach other ladders and platforms more quickly. A good, and probably prime, example of this is in CrashMan’s stage where you can avoid all the moving platforms and just use Item-1 to move by them faster, making it a nice item for speedruns. You do leave yourself open to attacks, so be careful. Overall, its a very handy little item and one only found in Rockman 2 and it can be quite fun to use, whether its necessary or not. Makes sense since it was before the days of Rush.
That concludes today’s episode of RRF. Hope you all enjoyed and see you again tomorrow.
Hello everyone. How are you all today? Hope all is well on your end and getting ready for another summer weekend. For today, we’ll stick with stage enemies, but go from Zero to DASH. Today’s RRF is: ‘Karubun’. Lots of Reaverbots in the DASH/Legends series, and this here is one of them. This one here is the giant green or pink, depending on where you fight it, tank-like Reaverbot… a tank with legs and a big jagged mouth. It appears in the depths of the Main Gate and inside the City Sub-Gates. It’s a very large Reaverbot and it’s pretty tough as well. Even with your buster with a lot of power upgrades and parts onto it, it still takes a lot of hits to go down. It’s very satisfying when you do kill them, in more ways then one. It can drop a lot of Zenny and health power-ups and since its so strong, its a well-deserved victory. In the City Sub-Gates, you can jump on top of the buldings and aim at them. It can make it a little easier when fighting them, but it’s weaponry can make that advantage into somewhat of a handicap. In its mouth, it can fire off a bunch of small bombs. These bombs are quite strong and can really hack away at your health and your shields. It also shoots a barrage of bullets at you. You can jump or run to dodge them, but if you get by them, it can bolt you down, making the rest of them hit you, which can be very irritating and very sore as well. Once you drain their health, they will explode in a glorious fashion. Overall, while they are a strong Reaverbot, they serve a good challenge and their reward is quite nice for defeating them. If your strong and need some extra Zenny, you can pick a couple of them off.
That concludes today’s RRF. Hope you all enjoyed it and see you again soon.
Hi everybody. How are we all today? Hope all is well on your end. For today’s RRF, we’ll stick with the recent trend of stage enemies, but we’ll go over to the Zero series here. Today’s RRF is: ‘Variant Fire’. There are a lot of Pantheons in the Zero series, only to be replaced by Dr. Weil’s Variants in Zero 4, and this one here is one of the many versions of the Variants (4 to be exact). The Variant Fire is one of the 4 Variants and is the most common form of them. It is very easy to destroy, even on easy mode. They are found pretty much everywhere in Zero 4. You can destroy them pretty much anyway that you want, though if you use the Zero Knuckle, you can gain their Blaze Shot ability, which is limited to only 8 shots, but its a pretty useful ability. In Fenri Lunaedge’s stage, this can also be used to melt some snow there. The Variant Fire also drops its parts very often as well. You can use it for a few upgrades as well, but for the most parts its pretty much useless. Overall, its a common and basic version of the Variant, even though its 1 of 4, its weapon for th Zero Knuckle is nice and it serves as an adequate replacement for the Pantheons.
That concludes today’s RRF. Hope you liked and see you tomorrow.
Hello everybody. How are you today? Hope all is well and enjoyed your weekend. Well, after taking the weekend off… to work… i’m back for more content. Today, we’ll go back to Rockman 10 and have another look at an enemy. Today’s RRF is: ‘Kaona Geeno’. More wacky and different names, you gotta love them. Oh well, anyways, this enemy here is found in Rockman 10. It is the enemy that’s found in Chill Man’s level and the 2nd stage in Wily’s Castle, but for the most part, it’s in Chill Man’s level. This is the snowman-like enemy that sits around and will throw its head out at you. Pretty simple, right? Well, from that standpoint it is, but don’t get too smart, since its head will shoot out 2 bullets when it either hits the ground or a certain place in the sky, or if you shoot it… on easy mode that is. On normal and hard mode it will shoot 4 bullets. These bullets are pretty easy to avoid since the shoot in a + format, but since they are generally in areas where there is a lot of ice on the floor and where theres a number of obstacles. They are generally easy to dispose of as well. Triple Blade can take them out quick, if you hit with all 3 blades. Water Shield cna work nice as well. Solar Blaze can also be nice as well. On a related note, on its name, the japanese term “kao nagee no", which roughly translates to “it throws its face". Well, technically it throws its head, but pretty damn close if you ask me. Overall, its an interesting little enemy. Not too much of a threat, but it can be irritating if there is obstacles around.
That concludes today’s RRF. Hope you liked it and see you again tomorrow.
Hello everybody. How are you all doing today? All is well I hope and prepared for another weekend. As for me, i’m prepared for more content. For today, we’ll look at a virus. Today’s RRF is: ‘Scarecrow’. So we’ll go from Classic to Battle Network and look at another one-game wonder enemy. The Scarecrow, or Kakaji in Japan, appears only in EXE/BN 6. It’s a little more unique compared to some of the other viruses. While it’s one of the many kinds of electrical-based viruses and one of the kinds that don’t move at all, but its also one that has a couple ways of healing itself, and fully as well. If you hit this virus with any form of electrical attack, including its own battlechip, DollThunder, it will fully heal, then attack you with a lightning bolt down the entire row. If you leave it alone for awhile, or attack it for a few seconds it and don’t delete it, it will summon a lightning bolt down from the sky, and it will strike itself, heal completely and attack. Since it doesn’t move, you’ll always have a clear shot at attacking it, though it generally appears with other Scarecrows or other viruses that move alot of attack multiple panels. Since its also elec-based, Wood-based chips are the best bet to use against them, Boomerangs are a great way to get rid of them. Corn Shot and Rolling Log can work as well… and of course, other types of battlechips can work as well, just make sure that you don’t hit them with any kind of electrical attack.
That concludes today’s edition of RRF. Hope you all enjoyed and see you again soon.
Hello everyone. How are you today? Hopefully all well and getting ready for another weekend here soon. For today, we’ll go back to the Classic series and look at a stage enemy. Today’s RRF is: ‘Dockalocker’. I’ve seen some weird names for enemies, but this one is just a little overkill i think… i’d love to find out where they get the names for some of them. Anyway, before i go into rant mode, i’ll talk about the enemy itself. This enemy here appears in Rockman 10 and is found in StrikeMan’s level. These are the little enemies that reside in the locker shelves and will open up and shoot out at you. There are only a few in those shelves, and they will always appear in a ser order and will shoot at your current location. It takes a little practice and memorization to know where they all are and when they come out (no, im not telling you where, figure it out yourself) but once you know where they are, then its a whole lot easier to fight them. Some of the higher up ones you can ignore, but the ones closest to you. A couple shots from your normal Buster can destroy them, or rapid-fire with Bass, or a charged shot from ProtoMan. If you want to use any master weapons, Triple Blade and Water Shield work best, and you can also use Wheel Cutter and Solar Blaze as well. Overall, they are a simple enemy in this game and stage, yet another one-game one-stage wonder, and another one with an odd name… though can make some sense in where they reside.
That concludes todays edition of RRF. Hope you liked and see you tomorrow.
Hello everybody. How are we all doing today? Hope all is good, and still enjoying your summer. For today, we’ll stick with the X series. Hey, ive been playing it alot, so why not? Today’s RRF is: ‘Icarus Armour’. I’ve covered a couple armours in the past, and i’m covering another one here. This one here is one of the 2 Armours in Rockman X8, not counting the Ultimate Armour… and, to a lesser degree, the Neutral Armour. Once you get the Neutral Armour… preferably in the Noah’s Park, you can start to collecting the parts for this armour. In Noah’s Park, you’ll find the Arm Part, which is the best part to this armour as it enhances the buster and creates some strong buster shots and charge shots, including the strong laser. In the Metal Valley, you can find the Body Part. At first, it will be unavailable, but once you have your little encounter with the Yellow Brontes at the cranes, you’ll be able to get to it once you have to chase him down. You’ll need one of the fire weapons in order to access it, since its behind some blocks. This will half the damage and get rid of recoil. In Primrose, you can find the Helmet Parts, which is also very useful. When you jump, a forcefield-like fireball will surround you as you jump and it can destroy small enemies and damage other ones. It can also protect against small shots if you time it correctly. In the Booster Forest, you can acquire the Leg Part, which will double your jumps height. This is also useful in jumping and dash-jumping. With the Neutral Armour, you can use 1-3 of these parts, but when you have all 4 of the parts, it will glow red and will activate the Icarus Armour. When you have the Icarus Armour, you can also do the Giga Crash, a strong attack that’s unique to almost all other Armours. This one is more unique as you can use it whenever you want, only its power and length of attacks will depend on how much weapon energy it has. The more there is, the stronger it will be and the longer it will attack. Of course, it’s always best to use it at full power. Overall, its a very good and very useful Armour in Rockman X8, one that i use very frequently when i play as X and its one of my personal favorites as well.
That concludes today’s RRF. Hope you enjoyed and see you tomorrow again.
Hi everyone. How are you all doing today? Hope all is good, enjoying your week, and getting ready to go bed to school or college… if you are going back that is. For today, we’ll stay with the X series. Today’s RRF is: ‘Red-Hot World’. Most Rockman/MegaMan games (not all, most) have some sort of level or stage that revolves around fire or flame or heat or anything of the sort in them, and Rockman X5 definitely had it. This world here belongs to Burn Dinorex. This world is totally full of both heat and lava and you’ll be encountering it for a majority of the level. The first portion of the first half of the level just involves going down into the volcano and killing enemies and avoiding large blasts of fire coming from small demonic dinosaur-like panels in the floor and the walls. You need to be careful here since those fire blasts can deal some very serious damage to you… a couple shots can put you in serious jeopardy if you have no Heart Tanks. The second portion involves you running away from a large wave of lava coming at you with only a couple of safe spots to hide from… some of which require you to duck or jump on a wall. The lava wave here lasts a couple seconds and is instant-kill no watter what, even your invincible from taking damage from an enemy. The second half of this level is a little more unique and can be difficult as well. There’s a ride armour right off the bat and you’ll have the option to dive right into the lava or go above it. If you go directly into the lava, you’ll need the ride armour, otherwise you’ll die, but its a quicker and safer way to travel as the enemies go down very easily down there with the ride armour. If you decide against that route, you can go over the lava, but you’ll have to fight an X-version of the Mecha Dragon, with it chasing you down and destroying the platforms as it gets closer to you. Once you get ot the end of that route, you’ll have to battle it. No real worry as its very easy, just be careful not to fall into the lava. Once you get to the end of either route, you’ll need to ride on a few wires that require your wire hook rider to get across safely… or if you’re playing as X, use the Falcon Armour. Speaking of Armours, on the other side of those wires is a capsule for the Gaea Armour. Using the Falcon Armour is the safest way to get to it. After you get ot the end of the level, you’ll get your battle with Burn Dinorex and gain a part for the Space Shuttle.
That concludes today’s RRF. Hope everybody enjoyed it and see you all again tomorrow.
Hi everyone. How are you all today? Hopefully all is well, enjoying your summer and your weekend, i know i did… hence another “tomorrow” being 3 days later. I suck I know. Anyways, for today’s RRF, we’ll look at another weapon. Today’s RRF is: ‘Blast Launcher’. Since i’ve been playing a lot of Rockman X8 lately, we’ll turn the ever-popular trend of weapons to this game. The Blast Launcher is one of the numerous types of guns that Axl uses in this game. This one here is gained after you defeat Bamboo Pandamonium and it has a fair number of uses. While this one may be rather slow in firing, but it packs a serious punch to it. It fires off some large grenades from it and they explode after a few seconds, or on contact if they hit an enemy. These grenades also break guards. Its also a large gun and one of only 3 that require Axl to use both hands while using it… unless he’s sliding down a wall. While it may be slow in firing, especially when rapid-firing, you can speed it up by button-mashing, getting more shots in faster. Bamboo Pandamonium’s version of the Blast Launcher is prety much similiar, only it homes in on you. Overall, its a pretty nice weapon, even though its very slow, unlike onles like Ray Gun or Ice Gattling, but its definitely powerful and one i like to use.
That concludes today’s RRF. Hope you enjoyed and see you again soon.
Hello everybody. How are you all doing today? Hopefully all is well, and ready for some more content. For today, we’ll go back a series from X to Classic. Today’s RRF is: ‘Fire Telly’. This may not be one of Telly’s Top Lists, but we’ll look at one of the incarnations of Telly here anyways. This version of Telly appears in Rockman 6 and appears in FlameMan’s stage and in portions of both Mr.X’s and Dr.Wily’s castles. They simply float and spins around, like most Telly’s, but there they also spit down little fireballs out at you. These fireballs are extremely easy to avoid and aren’t all that much of a threat to you there, but in FlameMan’s level, they are an absolute terror. FlameMan’s level has the oil patches and if they drop the fire into them, they will turn into flaming masses, and they stay on fire until you clear the stage, or lose all your lives. You can destroy them before they have a chance to do so, but you have to be very quick at it, since they generally are not alone. Centaur Flash can generally knock them out in one shot, but it takes alot of energy. Blizzard Attack, Silver Tomahawk and Yamato Spear work nicely as well… and then again, so does your fully charged Buster.
That concludes today’s edition of RRF. Hope you all liked it and see you again tomorrow.
Hello everybody. How are you all today? Hopefully all is well, enjoying your day and your summer. After a small break, i’m back for more content. Today, we’ll look at the X series. Today’s RRF is: ‘Nightmare Dark’. Rockman X6 is full of the Nightmare Phenomenon, and this here is one of them. The Nightmare Phenomenon is one of the key components of X6, and for the most part is quite annoying, and this form of the Nightmare, is nothing less then god-awful horrible… and when i say horrible, i mean HORRIBLE. After you go through Infinity Mijinion’s stage, either normally or the side-route, this Nightmare effect will show up in both Rainy Turtloid and Commander Yammark’s stage, and did i mention that it is HORRIBLE??? This Nightmare (which IS a nightmare) causes the black floodlights that obscures your vision. The dark lights cause about half of the screen to become black to the point of not being able to see anything at all, and theres a couple lights versions where you can vaguely see around you and theres a diamond shape view where you can see the screen normally. To make matters worse, its not a set vision screen, as the dark lights move around alot. And to make it worse… yes it can get worse, this generally happens where there are a fair amount of strong enemies, rescueable reploids and nightmare viruses, spikes and bottomless pits. It makes the level very god-awful to play, even if you know the routes and lay-out of the levels… and even if you have the Ultimate Armour and just Nova Strike everything. Overall, while the Nightmare is an alright concept, its definitely an annoying thing as well, and this form of it is absolutely beyond annoying, its basically there just to piss you off.
That concludes today’s edition of RRF. Hope you all enjoyed it and see you all again tomorrow.
Hello everyone. How are you today? Hope all is well, enjoying your weekend and not noticing that tomorrow is a day late again… well, i guess you have now after me saying it. For today, we’ll go on over to the EXE series. Today’s RRF is: ‘LevBus’. Anyone recognize this one? I know I sure do, and if you’ve played EXE/Battle Network 6, then you really should. The LevBus is the main source of transportation in Cyber City. It serves as the equivelant at the Metroline from ACDC Town and the rest of Electopia… just not here. The LevBus is a levitating bus that floats in the air on a set course between all of the stations that it goes from. The main stations are in Central Town, Seaside Town, Green Town and Sky Town. There is possibly other stations, but Lan and everyone else don’t seem to go to them. It floats in the sky as it travels and the sound effects for it are quite interesting as well. Each of the stations have 4 directional ports in with the LevBus travels from, it’ll depend on where you are going to and from. It’s pretty much going one-way from every station except Central Town. Each station is also double-storied. Theres the main floor in which you can choose which Town you want to go to, and the second floor is where the LevBus actually comes into the station. Overall, its a pretty neat and futuristic form of traveling and suited the aspects of EXE6 quite nicely, but it could’ve been nice to use in other games as well, not just EXE6.
That concludes today’s RRF. Hope you all enjoyed and see you again soon.
Hello everybody. How are you all doing today? Hopefully all is well, enjoying your day, and getting ready for another summer weekend. For today, we’ll go back to X8 and have a look at a stage enemy. Today’s RRF is: ‘Moledig’. With the many recent RRF’s from X8, it obvious to tell that ive been playing it alot lately, and i have. Anyways, i wont get into that. The Moledig is the enemy that has a giant exacvation and bulldozer bucket in front of it. It sits in place and charges up its attack, then throws a bunch of rocks and rubble at you. In this charging state, it has a guard up, which you can break… or just hit it from behind instead. When you do break its guard, it will stagger backwards for a bit, leaving it vulnerable, then it will begin its charge again once it re-gains its balance. Its attacks are fairly weak, but its power and speed can become more stronger if its possessed by a Bulbrite. This enemy appears in both Noah’s Park and in Metal Valley. When i battle it, i prefer to hack and slash away at it with Zero and any one of his numerous weapons in this game. Once its guard is gone, using Axl and the Ray Gun or Ice Gatling is a good way to get high combo numbers. Using the full charge from X’s Icarus Armour is nice too… or just blast it away with the Ultimate Armour’s Nova Strike. Overall, its a neat enemy, one thats not a one-stage wonder, but it couldve been used elsewhere too.
That concludes todays RRF. Hope you liked it and see you tomorrow.
Hello everybody. How are you today? Hope all is good and well and enjoying your summer, and not breathing in fire smoke, like many people around here are. For today, we’ll look at another one of Zero’s weapons. Today’s RRF is: ‘Long Snapper’. Yes, i said weapons, not techniques. Well… if you really want to get picky here, its not exactly one of his weapons, its one that he steals when using the Zero Knuckle. This one here is stolen from the Poplan enemy. The Poplan is the enemy that looks like a leg-trap on top of a large metal vine that will grab you. This enemy appears in Zero 2 and 4, as well as a weird cameo in ZXAdvent, but in this case here, we’re taking about us using it. Since it’s very difficult to destroy and avoid, you just simply use the Zero Knuckle and pluck it like a weed… or a mechanical weed. To use it, simply punch or grab with the Zero Knuckle and the Long Snapper will lunge out and snap and bite at your enemies. While it will only cause very minimal damage, and generally only the first one deals damage, it is still very amusing to use and watch. If you do want to use this one with the Zero Knuckle, you can find this one in Area Zero, as well as Sol Titanion’s level.
That concludes todays RRF. Hope you all enjoyed and see you again tomorrow.
Hi there everybody. How are you all doing today? Hopefully all is well and enjoying the heat of summer. For today, we’ll take another look at one of Zero’s techniques, and a more unique one as well. Today’s RRF is: ‘Renyoudan’. While this is one of Zero’s techniques, it’s also not one of his default techniques. Does this sound confusing? Well, don’t worry, i’ll explain it. This technique appears in Rockman X8. This one is learned from Bamboo Pandamonium. Now, the Youdantotsu is the main technique learned from him, the Renyoudan (or Consecutive Leaf Finisher) technique requires a special weapon in order to be able to ues it. In this case here, you need the D-Glaive. Rather then lunging forward with any other weapon in this game, when you use the D-Glaive, Zero will thrust the D-Glaive very strongly and sharply in front of him 6 times. This one can pierce most guards and Zero looks awesome when he uses it. Let’s also not forget that it shoots off a bunch of leaves around when you use it. Quite interesting and amusing as well. Overall, its an interesting technique, and a nice one to use as well, and it had a fair amount of uses, though you have to hunt down the D-Glaive in order to be able to use it.
That concludes todays RRF. Hope you liked it and see you again tomorrow.
Hello everybody. How are you all today? Hopefully all is well, enjoyed your weekend. After being away for the weekend, i’m back for more content. For today, we’ll do something a little unique for #555. We’ll look at a music, but a different one. Todays RRF is: ‘Little Fugue’. Although this is a music in a Rockman game, the original DASH game to be precise, this one wasn’t written by CAPCOM. This piece of music, though re-mixed (and nicely i might add), was originally written and composed by Johann Sebastian Bach in the 1700’s. In DASH, this music here is used when you get to battle against Rockman Juno at the end of them game. It’s a pretty nice re-mixed theme to use… not just in the game, but the whole franchise as well. Generally, its a good thing to create our own music, but it’s still nice to use and re-make a classic theme from over 200+ years ago to use. This music, has been used in other games and anime apart from Rockman DASH. Some of them include, Nazca, The Paper CHase, Area 88 and Diamond Mine. Overall, its a pretty nice re-mix in DASH and it definitely suited the battle against Rockman Juno. I’m generally not a fan of Classical music, but its still a nice one to listen to.
That concludes todays RRF. Hope you enjoyed it and see you all again tomorrow.
